We are now a 19 member team! I am excited that so many have come on board to participate in the MS Bike Tour, Niagara 2006! We also have team sponsorship from Totally Spoke'd which is a great cycling shop in Stratford (29 Ontario Street, Stratford, 519-273-2001). Joel and Mike are keen to support us and I encourage everyone to check out the place. They have great service and stock of bikes and accessories.

A fundraising party is being planned for Sunday August 20th, 3-7pm near Mitchell at team member Paul and wife Margot's property "the Red Schoolhouse". We have an array of silent auction items which I will post this weekend and hope bids can be posted on the blog. Bids will close at the party on August 20th.

If you want to pledge a cyclist on the team, please go to the website below and click on pledge a cyclist and put in their name. If you want to support the team, you can pledge under my name and the group fundraising efforts will be submitted under my name, as Team Captain. The recognition and any prizes will be shared by the team.

Welcome to the inaugural posting for our team's blogg. We are a cycling team who participate in the MS Bike Tour in Niagara. Last August was our first tour and we had eight team members and raised almost $5000.00. Our membership has almost doubled and we are gearing up for a fantastic ride! Fundraising plans are underway for some group activities although each team member is responsible for raising a minimum of $200. We each have our own reasons for participating and MS effects many of our loved ones. For some of us it is a great opportunity to get in shape and spend a wonderful day together, touring a beautiful part of Ontario. We have a strong contingent of Stratford residents, many of us gather weekly for classes at a yoga collective and go for breakfast afterwards. The other part of our team are associated with the University of Waterloo, current and previous employees (a strong showing from Counselling Servies: yeah!! As Team Captain, I am proud of the growth and interest in the team, in our efforts to raise money and have fun. I am so excited to welcome new team members and hope this will become an annual commitment for us all.
